Hong Kong Flower Show, Hong Kong
The Hong Kong Flower Show is an annual exhibition that takes place in Hong Kong, China every March. This event has been organized by the city's Leisure and Cultural Services Department since 2000, and its purpose is to promote the importance of horticulture. Thousands of visitors from Hong Kong and the world over visit each year to enjoy views of floral displays amidst Hong Kong's magnificent cityscape.
Each year, the flower show chooses a different theme flower to display prominently. 2018's flower is the dahlia, a blossom that's renowned for its vibrant coloring. The dahlia is also closely tied to this year's festival theme, "Joy in Bloom," with landscape displays of brightly colored dahlias being designed to inspire a sense of joy in those attending the flower show.
Tickets to attend the flower show cost $14 HKD for adults and $7 HKD for children under 14, senior citizens and people with disabilities. Visitors can check out light shows, guided tours and musical performances, as well as plant exhibit competitions, photography competitions and other wondrous floral displays.
This year's Hong Kong Flower Show is happening between March 16th - 25th in Victoria Park. The simplest way to arrive is via Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), which is only 25 miles west of the flower show's entrance.
