Peony Festival, Ontario, Canada
The 14th annual Peony Festival will take place this June in Oshawa, a city in Ontario, Canada, with a bustling cultural core. Now in its 14th year, this flower festival showcases lavish peony displays that explode with color. The event runs from Saturday, June 9 through Sunday, June 10.
It's not all about the flowers -- though guests can expect to see 300 floral varieties in the gardens -- at the Peony Festival. There will be live music, food and drink stalls, seminars and artisans, too. However, the highlight of the event is, of course, the peony collection -- horticulturists come here to gawp at these pink, white and red plants with their full, rounded blooms. Other activities during the special weekend include an art contest.
The Peony Festival takes place at Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens, a large green space known for its cascading waterfalls and winding walkways. Located close to the Ontario shoreline, the gardens are 3.8 miles from Oshawa Airport and 37 miles from downtown Toronto. Several bus services stop close to the gardens.
Tickets to the Peony Festival at Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens are free.
